100 posts – What a milestone!! It’s weird to think that I’ve been writing, coding and snapping pictures for The Girl From Everywhere for almost two years now. I started this blog as a class project at uni and never imagined how much I would enjoy the creative process of constructing blog posts. My life has changed significantly since October 2013, and I’ve been #TrulyBlessed to see some incredible things, and so, to celebrate I’m highlighting my Top 10 vacations since TGFE started.
For the final post about our time in Angkor Wat, I’d like to share about the beautiful resort we stayed in and our pool day fun on our last day in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Siem Reap is amazing, but other than temples and exploring the city, activities available are limited. We finished our sightseeing in two days, so it was great to be at Le Meridien Angkor luxury resort so we could spend our last day of vacation relaxing in style.
I’ve often said that while tourist attractions are, of course, great to see (there’s a reason people flock from all over the globe to visit them), there is nothing quite like seeing how various cultures live day to day. Our third day in Cambodia was full of adventure and offered us these insights I love: we rode tuk tuks throughout the countryside, then took a boat ride through the water-front villages & visited the wet market.
While the main Angkor Wat temple was a fantastic sight, the best temple was yet to come. I mean, a tree…growing out of the roof of the temple?! The same temple in which Tomb Raider was filmed?? Yeah! Keep reading to hear all about it:
